Hey guys---I'm building a tool box/chainsaw holder on my Kubota B2320----Gonna do some welding --So---I assume I need to disconnect the battery. OK--do I need to disconnect both the + & - Or just the positive Or just the negative ?

When this came up before the consensus was that (depending on the type and location of the welding) the battery should be pulled so its vented hydrogen won't explode. I don't think anybody suggested it should be disconnected for electrical reasons, though disconnecting the +ve would isolate it. ....

Skip, what exactly would you be welding to the tractor?
I only ask because IMHO there's only 2 kinds of metal on a tractor;
1) stuff that's so meaty you'll ever get it hot enough without melting the second piece into a puddle at your feet, or,
2) stuff so thin that it melts into a puddle at your feet when you try and get it hot enough to weld your piece on.
:)
There just doesn't seem to be any 'middle ground' on a tractor, it's all or nothing.

grind paint on metal you're attaching tool box to and attach ground clamp as close as possible and have at it ....

Welding can blow the generator or Alternator as well as the control box.
Yes disconnect the battery. Keep the ground clamp as close to the weld as reasonable. Don't ground at the front then weld at the back.
Just my 2cents. ....
